Publisher Bandai Namco has just announced that it picked up Slightly Mad Studios' upcoming racing game, Project Cars.

"With a portfolio of prestigious, popular, and iconic titles under their wing, Bandai Namco are the perfect partners to bring our pioneering community-driven game to players around the world," says Slightly Mad Studios chief Ian Bell.

The game features some pretty snazzy visuals, and a carefully implemented driving simulation engine, along with dynamic time of day and weather systems. Project Cars also enables players to deeply tune and customize their ride, ensuring that everyone gets the vehicle of their dreams, that suits their driving style best.

In addition to the technical side of the simulation, Project Cars also offers a wealth of social options such as race weekends, leaderboard-based time challenges, and various other community events, along with a number of Historic Goals, offering each player the chance to enter the racing Hall of Fame.

The project started back in 2011 as the continuation to the Need for Speed and Test Drive franchises, both of which developer Slightly Mad Studios worked on. Project Cars also has support for the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus virtual-reality headsets on its pretty impressive list of features.

The game is now going to be released on PC, SteamOS, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U in November this year, Bandai Namco confirms.
