Video game developer Slightly Mad Studios and publisher Bandai Namco are announcing that they are delaying once again the launch date for Project CARS, which is now expected to be offered to all gamers on the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One at some point in the middle of May.

The companies are claiming that the extra time is needed to make sure that the racing title is as polished as possible before gamers get to experience it.

Ian Bell, the head of Slightly Mad Studios, states on the official site that "Despite therefore the game being 99.9% complete, the remaining 0.1% attending to small issues and bugs has been tricky to anticipate. We’re absolutely dedicated to delivering a ground-breaking experience."

Project CARS aims to introduce a full simulation experience and that means the community has high expectations from it.

In order to thank the player community and make sure that the delay does not drive them away, Slightly Mad is also saying that free extra content will be offered as soon as the game is live.

Project CARS will introduce a variety of tracks, a career mode built around authenticity, a complex and accurate handling model for all included vehicles, and simulations of both weather and the day and night cycle.
