Posting any early footage with Grand Theft Auto 5 will result in full-fledged console bans, at least on the Xbox 360, as allegedly this is what happened to the source of the all the videos and images that appeared with GTA V earlier today.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is one of the most anticipated games of the year and, even if it's scheduled to appear on September 17, some fans have managed to score early copies of the game and are already enjoying it on the PS3 or Xbox 360.

One Xbox 360 player who managed to show off gameplay from GTA V on the web earlier today made the mistake of showing his gamertag and allegedly he's had his console and account banned from the Xbox Live online service.

Rockstar is apparently to blame, as a report on NeoGAF cites the developer's no-nonsense rules concerning pre-release footage of its games, as does Microsoft, which punished early players of other big games in the past.

As of yet, Rockstar hasn't made a statement concerning the leaks.
