Nvidia confirms that a certain bug in the latest driver for its graphics cards is causing GTX 600 and GTX 700 cards with Kepler architecture to underperform in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, so a solution should appear quite soon.

The Witcher 3 is by far one of the biggest video games to appear on PC in recent times and, as always, Nvidia has partnered with its developer, CD Projekt Red, to implement specific features in the game, as well as augment the title's performance on its own graphics cards through a "Game Ready" driver.

Unfortunately, while the new software allowed recent GTX 900 series cards to run the game quite well, it also affect the title's performance on older hardware, such as the GTX 600 and GTX 700 series, which use the Kepler architecture.

According to an official forum post from Nvidia, this is due to a bug with the latest driver update, and a solution is currently in the works.

As such, those with older Nvidia graphics cards who are experiencing poor performance in The Witcher 3 should be on the lookout for a new driver update in the following weeks. Unfortunately, no exact time frame was given so it's unclear when exactly it might roll out and bring the much awaited fix.
