After announcing Pokemon X and Pokemon Y earlier this week and after checking out a few screenshots and some details about the two games, Nintendo has now revealed the names of the two new Pokemons in the upcoming titles: Xerneas and Yveltal.

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are the first games in the series that will appear on the Nintendo 3DS and the Japanese company has taken advantage of the handheld's power to upgrade the graphics while adding even more new Pokemons.

Among them are the two emblematic figures of the twin games: Xerneas (pronounced ZURR-nee-us) and Yveltal (ee-VELL-tall), which you can admire in the two screenshots below, straight from Nintendo.

As you can see, both their names and their appearance including the letters X and Y, so that's why Nintendo decided to drop the current naming scheme of Pokemon titles, which only featured names of different colors.

You can expect to hear lots more about Pokemon X and Y as we get closer to their global release in October.
