Sony is getting ready to reveal a new version of the PlayStation Vita, labeled Slim, which will be offered for pre-order as soon as today and will come complete with new technology.

AllGamesBeta has posted a mail from ShopTo which mentions the new device and the fact that it will go on sale for under 200 dollars or Euro, with an included title.

Sony has been teasing an official announcement for a coming Slim device but the company has not offered any hints about the nature of the reveal.

Sony launched the PS Vita 2000 in Japan, a device that is 20% thinner and 15 percent lighter.

The handheld has failed to generate the sales that its manufacturer has been expecting and the launch of a new Slim version, combined with some solid game launches, might serve to revive its long term fortunes.
