14 DAY TRIAL // Video game hardware developer and publisher Sony has released a new firmware update for its PlayStation Vita handheld, labeled 1.69, which is optional and will apparently only improve software stability on the device.
The firmware update is a minor one, but it weighs in at 97 MB and Vita users will be prompted to download and then apply it once the handheld is turned on again.
The limited information offered by Sony probably means that there are no major issues fixed via this new firmware.
Sony is already working on a major firmware update for Vita, which will be launched later during the year and will introduce support for PSOne Classics and for YouTube viewing.
The PlayStation Vita has so far disappointed when it comes to sales, despite Sony’s insistence that the device is doing well.
The company failed to reveal many core titles for the Vita during the recent E3 2012 press conference.
