Sony has announced that the PlayStation Home virtual world will soon get a new system called Blueprint, which is designed to allow all those who use it to create their own apartments and spaces to live in.

At the moment houses for users are restricted to a generic template, with some themes thrown in for those who are willing to pay.

Decorations are currently easy to do, but the new system will also introduce complex design elements and will give Home users more options to express their own creativity.

It’s not clear whether each user will need to create his own house or whether Sony also plans to introduce a way to share and rate the best home designs.

Home was launched as a way for Sony gamers to socialize with one another and interact with companies and products and the company has recently also introduced the ability to directly play video games in the social areas.
