Games industry analyst Michael Pachter has revealed his forecast for the upcoming release of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next-gen consoles, confirming that Sony will sell around 1.5 million units in its first day while the Xbox One will move around 1 million devices.

This November, both Sony and Microsoft will debut their next-gen consoles, in the form of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, respectively.

While Sony releases the PS4 first in North America, on November 15, and then in Europe on November 29, Microsoft will deploy the Xbox One on November 22 in 13 countries around the world.

According to Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter, who talked with the Examiner, based on pre-order figures and stocks, the PS4 will emerge victorious on launch day against the Xbox One.

The analyst predicted that both companies would sell the number of units they'll ship to retail stores but he believes that Sony will guarantee more stock, at around 1.5 million units, as opposed to Microsoft that can only get 1 million devices into stores in November.
