The company has been investigated for similar claims linked to the Wii U

Sony and its partners are pushing to produce as many PlayStation 4 home consoles as possible before its official launch date and a new report suggests that Foxconn, which handles the manufacturing, is using unpaid intern students in its factories.

GamesinAsia says that the company is working with the Xi'an Institute of Information Engineering to place students in unpaid positions inside its huge Yantai plant.

Those who refuse to do so cannot complete their education, but the PlayStation 4 manufacturing process places them in unskilled positions and does not make use of the information they have acquired in college.

Foxconn has been previously accused of using unpaid intern students to create a range of products for Apple and it stopped the process for the Wii U after Nintendo launched on official investigation.

Sony has not yet reacted to the report, which might affect the reputation of the upcoming PlayStation 4 before it is launched, in the middle of November.
