Mark Simon, the lead game designer on the upcoming God of War: Ascension, says that the recently revealed PlayStation 4 home console from Sony is powerful and that it will be easier to work with than the current PS3.

Speaking to The Official PlayStation Magazine, the developer states, “It’s going to use processors that’ll we’ll be able to develop on right away, so there’s some really good things about that.”

Simon also believes that the social nature of the PlayStation 4 opens up a number of interesting possibilities for developers.

God of War: Ascension tells yet another Kratos story but it’s unclear whether the Sony Santa Monica studio plans to bring the character back on the PlayStation 4.

The new console uses an X86-inspired architecture and will launch before the end of the year.
