Games industry analyst Michael Pachter has just posted a new research note relating to the price of next-generation consoles, saying that the PlayStation 4 will cost $349 (€267), while the Xbox One will feature a price tag of $399 (€306).

The next-gen consoles from both Sony and Microsoft have been revealed to the world in the past few months but quite a few details are still a mystery, including their actual price.

According to an analysis from Wedbush Securities' Michael Pachter, the PlayStation 4 costs Sony $275 (€210), leading him to speculate that a $349 (€267) price is quite likely, according to GamesIndustry.

Meanwhile, Microsoft spends $325 (€249) to make the Xbox One, so Pachter believes the company will charge $399 (€306) for it.

Much higher prices have been speculated for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so it's going to be interesting to see just how much the two next-gen consoles will cost and whether Sony or Microsoft will confirm the prices at E3 2013 next week.
