14 DAY TRIAL // Jim Ryan, who leads the European division of Sony Computer Entertainment and is a senior vice president of the Worldwide Studios, says that despite the launch of the PlayStation 4 the older home console from Sony will continue to be important in 2014.
He tells the official PlayStation Blog that, “Typically history can help us only so far here. We’re actually still selling PS2s in regions such as the Middle East seven years after we introduced PS3.”
With the next generation of devices the translation will be faster but Ryan believes that Sony has the resources to support both platforms at the same time.
He also mentioned games like God of War: Ascension and The Last of Us as examples of experiences that can be launched on the older PS3 once the newer console is out.
