Bayonetta developer could get the rights to Darksiders if they're cheap

Platinum Games, the studio behind games like Bayonetta, Vanquish, or the upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, is interested in THQ's Darksiders franchise, especially since no other company decided to place a bid for it at the recent bankruptcy auction.

Many THQ studios and franchises were auctioned off yesterday evening but among them wasn't the Darksiders series nor its development studio, Vigil Games.

Now, speaking on Twitter after the auction ended, Platinum Games boss Atsushi Inaba said that he'd love to buy Darksiders but only if it was cheap.

As you can imagine, Inaba's statements don't exactly confirm an actual bid for the hack and slash franchise but it might suggest that, if no other publisher is interested in the right for the series, Platinum could score it for a low price.

As of yet, it's unclear just what will happen to THQ's unsold properties.
