14 DAY TRIAL // Video game developer Sony Online Entertainment and Major League Gaming announce that they are currently working to make Planetside 2 part of the largest eSports competition in the world, with a number of tournaments specifically created to take advantage of the unique features of the MMO.
Planetside 2 will first make an appearance during the Winter Championship event that’s currently set to take place in Texas from March 15 to 17.
John Smedley, the president of Sony Online Entertainment, states, “PlanetSide 2 players are extremely loyal to their chosen Empires and when it comes to battling, they are beyond competitive and truly enjoy the in-game rivalries, so it was the natural next step for us to bring PlanetSide 2 to the most competitive eSports organization.”
At the moment, the most popular eSports include Starcraft 2, League of Legends and Counter-Strike.
