Peter Molyneux, the creator of Fable and Black & White 2, has confirmed that Project Godus will be the only mainstream game launched by his 22Cans studio, but has denied that this is a sign that he is looking to retire from the gaming industry.

Speaking with GamesIndustry.biz, the veteran game maker said, “I’m either going to stop making games when everyone in the world just hates the games I make or the day when I die.”

He added, “I feel more passionate, more engaged, more energetic about making games now than I ever have. The thought of retirement is abhorrent to me. I would have to be in some vegetative state to consider retirement.”

Project Godus is designed to revive the mechanics of Populous for a modern audience and is currently being funded using a Kickstarter initiative.
