Payday 2 developer Overkill has confirmed that the first-person co-op shooter will receive a year's worth of downloadable content and that one of the first things to be added is a female character.

Payday 2 improves greatly upon the mechanics of the first game, Payday: The Heist, and brings plenty of new mechanics and features.

Besides these improvements, Overkill wants to deliver plenty of other things via DLC, as the studio's David Goldfarb told OXM that there's a year's worth of add-ons planned for Payday 2.

Among the first things that will be added to the game is a female character that will bring more diversity to the team of four robbers, which are all male.

"I’m hoping – I don’t know if we’ll get it as our first DLC, because we’d have to redo all the animations so it doesn’t look like a dude walking around with a female body, but I’d like to do that."

As of yet, Goldfarb didn't say just when the DLC release schedule is set to begin.
