The beta version of Payday 2 has just been released on the Steam digital distribution service and can be downloaded by those who have already bought the Career Criminal Edition of the upcoming game.

Overkill wants to drastically improve on the original Payday experience with the upcoming sequel and, in order to get as much feedback from loyal fans as possible, the studio has just posted a special beta version of the title onto the Steam digital distribution service.

Those who have already pre-purchased the game's Career Criminal Edition can download the beta and try out the current state of the new title.

Overkill wants to hear feedback from these loyal fans and see what needs changing before the game is released in August as a final version.

The new Payday 2 promises to deliver plenty of new things over its predecessor, including a special Crimenet system that allows players to choose what targets they can assault as part of a carefully coordinated heist.
