Painkiller Hell & Damnation will be launched on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft on April 5, according to publisher Nordic Games.

The revival of the classic first-person shooter was created by The Farm 51, a studio based in Poland, using all the capabilities of the Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation delivers a single-player campaign, multiplayer and cooperative play.

The game offers a fast paced and old-school experience that’s focused on weapon use and mayhem.

Reinhard Pollice, the production and business development manager at Nordic Games, tells Eurogamer that, “We have been working around the clock to bring the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game in line with the quality and standard of the PC game. There has been a slight delay so that the console communities can enjoy the fiendishly ghoulish experience that we know they want and deserve.”
