PlayStation 4 users have already begun receiving phishing messages over the PlayStation Network from scammers who say they represent Sony and need access to the username and password of an account in order to give them money and free games.

The PS4 launched back in November in North America and Europe and is currently being rolled out in different countries worldwide by Sony.

As such, it was just a matter of time before scammers and other nefarious individuals started their phishing campaigns over the PlayStation Network online service.

Already, some PS4 owners on Reddit have received bogus messages from other PS4 users, claiming to represent Sony and asking for their user names and passwords, in order to give them a certain amount of money and a free PSN game of their choice.

As you can imagine, you shouldn't share your PSN username or password with anyone and, in order to keep things extra secure, change your password from time to time, as apparently a lot of hacker attacks are being directed towards the PS4 and Xbox One nowadays.
