The next-gen console's system software update is filled with problems

Electronic Arts has released a statement concerning the performance of its games on the PS4, such as Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, or Madden NFL 25, blaming the crashes and instability on the next-gen console's system software 1.50.

The PS4 came out today, November 15, in North America, and Sony launched several days ago a special firmware update that took the console's software to version 1.50 and added all sorts of features.

Unfortunately, the console's performance hasn't been the most stable, as hardware and software problems were reported.

Now, Electronic Arts has posted a special article blaming the instability of its own games, like Battlefield 4, on the problematic software 1.50.

“This affects all games on the PS4, including EA titles, causing crashing/freezing and non-responsive connections between the player's console and their TV Screen," EA said. "Unfortunately since it's an issue with Sony's firmware, it requires a new update to fix it. Sony is working to resolve the issue as quickly as they can. They will update their System Update page as new versions are made available, and we will keep this page updated as we find out more."

As of yet, Sony hasn't commented on these accusations.
