A set of leaked images containing what seems to be an overhauled user interface for the PS4 platform has appeared online, although they could be an elaborate ruse made just to mess with fans of the console.

Sony's PS4 has proven to be quite popular in terms of sales, with millions of users flocking to the new device and buying a variety of games for it.

Unfortunately for them, the Japanese company hasn't been that forthcoming with improvements to the actual software of the console, as the firmware updates have been few, far between, and what's more, they haven't really addressed key issues raised by the community.

Now, a set of leaked images apparently reveals the user interface overhaul that's supposedly included in the next PS4 firmware update.

The pics surfaced on Reddit, but as some eagle-eyed users spotted, one of the images includes a Killzone: Shadow Fall cover complete with the Rating Pending ESRB notice, which doesn't actually show up when viewing it on the console.

Even so, there are quite a few nifty improvements in the images, such as the ability to sort games in folders and other things.

As of yet, Sony hasn't commented on the leaked images. Check them all out below.
