Sony has just confirmed that the DualShock 3 controller made for the PlayStation 3 won't work with the PlayStation 4, even if the PlayStation Move motion control system is compatible with the next-gen console.

The PlayStation 4 was revealed to the world yesterday and, while the actual console wasn't showcased, Sony presented its controller, the DualShock 4, as well as its special PlayStation 4 Eye Camera.

Now, Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida has revealed to Polygon that the PlayStation 4 won't support the PS3's DualShock 3 controller.

Even so, the next-generation console will be compatible with the PlayStation Move.

Other details about supported peripherals will be shared in the future, according to him, so PS3 users might still have some use for their various items, like the wireless Bluetooth headset.
