After confirming yesterday during its pre Tokyo Games Show 2014 press conference that themes would be included in the PS4 firmware update 2.0, Sony has now revealed that the themes are also going to be released for the PS Vita handheld console via system software update 3.30.

The PS4 and PS Vita platforms have been helping each other reach quite a lot of new customers in recent months, as due to the Remote Play function, lots of PS4 owners are getting handheld devices, while a lot of the indie titles coming to the PS4 are also reaching the PS Vita, leading to a more solid game library.

Now, Sony has announced on the PS blog that firmware update 3.30 for the PS Vita is going to bring themes to the small console, just like update 2.0 is doing with the PS4.

Both system software updates are set to appear this fall, and besides it, PS Vita owners will also be on the receiving end of a Live from PlayStation application, designed to allow them to admire the Twitch or Ustream live streams organized by PS4 owners from around the world.

The new functionality, as well as the updates, still don't have release dates, so look forward to hearing more soon enough.
