Sony has just removed the Facebook app for its PlayStation Vita handheld console from the PS Store, after owners of the new device spotted some major issues.

One of the Vita’s big selling points is that you can always be connected with your friends, whether they’re on the PlayStation Network or other social services like Facebook.

Sadly, the dedicated PS Vita Facebook application, which was available for free via the PS Store, is experiencing some serious issues, as many users were met with error codes after trying to interact with the social network.

As such, Sony has now removed the Facebook app from the PS Store, saying that the problem lies with Facebook itself. The company did promise that it was working closely with the social network to resolve all bugs.

Until everything’s ready, however, PS Vita owners will be left without the ability to connect to Facebook.
