Konami, in between confirming PES 2013 for a release later this year, has announced that the current PES 2012 game would get a major downloadable expansion focused on the Copa Libertadores competition that’s going on in South America.

EA attracted football (soccer) fans to its FIFA 12 simulator earlier this week by releasing the special UEFA Euro 2012 DLC for the game.

Now, Konami is fighting back by confirming that it would launch tomorrow, April 27, a special Copa Libertadores DLC for PES 2012.

Set to include all 38 teams that participate in the competition, as well as their updated rosters and the official ball of the championship, the add-on is looking quite impressive.

What’s more, the DLC also brings a few improvements to “select parts of the game” which are now more refined to provide a better experience.

Expect to hear a bit more about the Copa Libertadores DLC for PES 2012 tomorrow, when it’s launched on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
