Sony's new console is quite popular and new owners have bought games and Plus

Sony has revealed some more statistics about the PlayStation 4 console, confirming that, in 2013, over 9.7 million games for the next-gen device have been sold across retail and digital stores. What's more, since the platform's debut, a 90% increase in PS Plus subscriptions has been recorded.

The PS4 is enjoying a huge amount of popularity, with Sony revealing that over 4.2 million units have been sold as of December 28.

Now, the company has shared a few more interesting numbers regarding its new platform.

According to Sony, more than 9.7 million games have been sold in 2013, across both retail stores and the digital markteplaces like PS Store or Amazon.

The bestselling titles were Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, and Killzone: Shadow Fall.

The PS Plus subscription also experienced a surge in popularity when the PS4 was released, as over 90% more users signed up for the premium service.
