Large retailer GameStop has sold over 1 million units of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 during its midnight launch events across the world and its boss, Tony Bartel, has confirmed that the new shooter is shaping up to be one of the biggest it’s ever released.

Black Ops 2 was eagerly awaited by millions upon millions of fans from all over the world.

After confirming that the number of pre-orders for the new title has eclipsed those registered by last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, GameStop has begun revealing a few statistics about the game’s launch earlier this week on November 13.

According to the retailer, over 1 million copies of Black Ops 2 were sold across its stores around the world at midnight.

As a result, Black Ops 2 is shaping up to be GameStop’s “biggest game launch of all time,” according to the retailer’s CEO, Tony Bartel, via CVG.

You can expect Activision to flaunt the performance of Black Ops in the following days, after it records all of impressive sales reached by the game.
