The upcoming Outlast will be launched on the PlayStation 4 in the coming weeks and the development team says that the entire experience will run at a constant 60 frames per second and a 1080p resolution on the Sony device.

Phillipe Morin, the co-founder of the Red Barrels studio, is quoted by GamingBolt as saying that, “We didn’t run into any issues. We’re using all the cores and the RAM also helps.”

The developer also says that most players should be unable to notice any sort of difference between the PlayStation 4 and the PC versions of Outlast.

Some reports have suggested that one of the limitations of the home console is linked to the CPU, which has a lower core speed than those found in a high-end gaming PC.

Both Microsoft and Sony have claimed that their next-gen consoles are designed to offer hardware power equivalent to mainstream PCs.
