EA says gamers should be patient as all errors are being fixed

The release of SimCity today, March 5, is causing quite a lot of errors mainly due to the servers of digital distribution service Origin, which are affecting regular owners of the game as well as for those who got the Digital Deluxe edition.

Update: Origin has apparently solved the issues but it might take up to three hours for the game to properly unlock due to server stress.

SimCity is currently being released all over the world by publisher Electronic Arts using its Origin digital distribution service.

Sadly, it seems that EA's servers weren't exactly ready for the massive influx of SimCity fans, as the company has just posted a few messages on the Origin Twitter account, saying that delays and download issues might appear.

"Origin is currently experiencing some delays due to heavy traffic. We're just as excited to play SimCity as you are," the studio said. "We are aware of an issue affecting customers trying to download The Digital Deluxe edition of SimCity. We are working to correct this issue."

What's more, Origin support forums are being flooded by angry users, so trying to get any actual information will be very hard. Live chat support is also under a lot of pressure and those that want to talk to an EA representative will have to wait a very long time.
