The service is not offering information about user numbers

Video game publisher Electronic Arts is delivering a massive infographic linked to its Origin digital distribution service, designed to show how gamers have used it in 2013.

The company says that 61 billion minutes were spent using Origin and that 159 million Achievements were unlocked during this time, with friends having no less than 300 million chat messages delivered between them.

The only important number that Electronic Arts has not included is that of active users, presumably because it is not happy with the limited growth that took place since July 2013, when the figure stood at 50 million.

Origin is the digital distribution service that is supposed to be the main rival for Steam, as reported by Polygon.

EA has said that it wants to introduce more features to Origin, but it is highly unlikely that the service will ever manage to become dominant on the PC, given the impressive ambitions that Valve has for its own digital distribution solution.
