The development team working on the Oculus Rift virtual reality device announces that it has hired a new developer, Adrian Wong, who has previous experience working as the lead electrical engineer on the Google Glass device.

It’s not clear exactly what role he will fill in the organization, but it continues a long-term trend for the company, which has been attracting top talent from the industry.

Several developers who worked on virtual reality solutions for Valve have also joined Oculus Rift and previously, 343 Industries founding game maker Kenneth Scott has also joined the company, says Gamasutra.

Earlier during the year, Facebook bought the virtual reality hardware maker and announced that it had long-term plans for the technology to be used in order to create new ways for its users to socialize and interact with one another.

In the short term, Oculus Rift will continue to focus on the creation of its commercial VR solution, which is expected to be launched at some point in the fall for an undisclosed price.

The device will be offered exclusively on the PC and the company is also creating video games that will support it.

Sony is working on a similar solution, called Project Morpheus, on the PlayStation 4.
