Developer Young Horses announced that their upcoming game Octodad: Dadliest Catch supports local co-op mode for up to four players.

Game studio Young Horses has revealed the local multiplayer co-op mode during a live stream with Polygon, during which two-player co-op was showcased.

Players will be able to control one set of limbs each, and will be able to drop in and out anytime using the game's menu. The option will be available in all versions of Octodad: Dadliest Catch, across all platforms, but online multiplayer will not be implemented.

Young Horses president Phil Tibitoski also mentions that the game would launch with a four-player Roulette mode, in which every time an objective is completed, limbs players control will be randomly switched and players will have to figure out who controls what all over again.

The awkward controls were the main motivation behind the team's efforts, and not being able to control the appendages of Octodad and struggling to perform various everyday tasks with the cephalopod is the game's main attraction.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch is out today for Linux, Mac and PC, and it will also land on Sony's PlayStation 4 console a little later, in March.
