Chris Avellone, the creative director at Obsidian, confirms that it has a new video game project in development at the moment, a role-playing game with action elements that is linked to next-generation consoles.

The developer would not offer any more details on the game.

But he does tell Eurogamer that his studio has a separate team working on the project, in addition to those involved with Project Eternity, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and a new version of Skyforge, a Russian MMO, for Western markets.

Avellone also confirms that Obsidian has worked on a number of titles that will never be launched, including a Snow White role-playing game, Aliens: Crucible, and a secret project that was apparently linked to Fallout.

The studio’s new project will be revealed before the end of the year.
