The pre-order bonus map is only available in Custom Games

Activision has pulled the special Nuketown 2025 map from the regular multiplayer playlists of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, as the level is now only accessible through the Custom Games section.

Anyone who pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops II before its launch last week received a voucher that allowed them access to Nuketown 2025, a special map based on the ever-so-popular Nuketown from Black Ops 1.

While owners of the game were able to play on it during the special double XP launch weekend, they’ve now found that the map has been pulled from the regular multiplayer playlists.

According to the Twitter account of the game’s Design Director, David Vonderhaar, the reasoning is that “Double XP weekend is official over. That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well.”

He quickly added that Nuketown 2025 would be added into the public playlists during special events and that owners of the game can still access it via the Custom Games interface.

“Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 will be back for special events. You can always play it with your friends in Custom Games.”

What do you think of this major change? Should Activision have kept it in the public playlists?
