A new Street Fighter won't be released for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One anytime soon, as the franchise's producer, Yoshinori Ono, confirmed on Twitter that he lacks the budget and staff to develop such a project.

Capcom confirmed earlier this week that it's going to release in early 2014 Ultimate Street Fighter IV for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

While rumors appeared about a potential PlayStation 4 or Xbox One launch, they were denied by Capcom, leading fans to presume that a next-gen installment could appear soon enough.

This rumor has now been denied by Capcom's Yoshinori Ono on Twitter, saying that he lacks the budget for the project's research and development, as well as the staff, as apparently his team is focusing on Ultimate Street Fighter IV.

As such, fans of the fighting franchise shouldn't expect a next-gen iteration anytime soon.
