Video game publisher Capcom is dismissing information that suggested it might be working on a PlayStation Vita version of its upcoming Monster Hunter 4.

Late last week, a Japanese magazine called GameLab posted a rumor about a potential delay for Monster Hunter 4. Apparently, sources confirmed that a potential delay would be used to ensure a simultaneous release on the Nintendo 3DS and the Vita rather than to deliver increased graphics quality or better gameplay.

Christian Svensson, a senior vice president at Capcom, says on the official company blog that, “I would not believe everything you read on the internet. It will set you up for disappointment or misdirected frustration.”

Monster Hunter 4 will introduce a number of new weapons, monsters and gameplay elements to the popular series.

Capcom says that the launch will take place during summer 2013.
