No Man's Sky, the indie sensation from developer Hello Games, can be played offline, as apparently the studio doesn't want to limit the huge procedurally generated world if players don't have an active internet connection.

No Man's Sky captured the hearts and minds of quite a lot of different fans when it was initially revealed at the end of last year. Since then, the procedurally generated space game from indie studio Hello Games has been gathering hype with every new detail, screenshot, or video revealed by the team.

The space experience allows players to not only explore all sorts of randomly generated bits of the universe, but also to touch down on planets and go through them on foot, naming flora and fauna depending on whether or not they're the first ones who found it.

The game will have a form of online interaction element but it can easily be played offline, at least according to a new article from Edge magazine, via NeoGAF.

Bear in mind that this hasn't been explicitly confirmed by Hello Games but you can expect the studio to cater to all sorts of players, whether or not they have an active internet connection.

No Man's Sky is expected to launch next year for PC and PS4.
