Video game publisher Microsoft says that it has no plans to launch its shooter Halo 3 on the PC platform, after speculation about the possibility appeared when a mention of the game was seen in the latest AMD drivers.

The company tells Eurogamer that, "We currently do not have plans to release any Halo titles on Steam, nor do we currently have plans to release a PC version of Halo 3."

Information about Halo 3 has also been discovered in Steam files, which suggests that at some point, the Bungie-developed title was linked to the PC.

Only the first title in the series was launched on other platforms than the Xbox 360 and it seems that Microsoft is keen to persuade those interested in the adventures of Master Chief to pick up one of its home consoles.
