CD Projekt Red, the developer behind the impressive The Witcher series, has confirmed that it has no plans to remaster in high definition the first two entries in the saga, as it only wants to focus on bringing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt onto PC, PS4, and Xbox One next February.

The Witcher 1 appeared only on the PC platform and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings made its debut on the PC and, one year later, on the Xbox 360.

For The Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red is focusing, for the first time, on three platforms at the same time, in the form of the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The title will launch in early 2015, and the studio has now emphasized that it's focusing primarily on the latest iteration in the role-playing game series and, as such, it isn't thinking about remastering The Witcher 1 or 2 for the PS4 and Xbox One.

"All of our focus is on [The Witcher 3] Wild Hunt. And then we have some other things going on," he said, "one of them being Cyberpunk. So I don't think it's in the plans," CD Projekt Red's Lead Producer Piotr Krzywonosiuk told GameZone.

As such, fans shouldn't expect a chance to re-experience the old games in HD on the new consoles from Sony or Microsoft.
