BioWare has seemingly designed the co-op mode to work just online and on each platform

Dragon Age: Inquisition's multiplayer mode will not support splitscreen or cross-platform play, according to a new report, which emphasizes the online nature of the cooperative experience and the technical challenges presented by each platform.

BioWare surprised quite a lot of people when it confirmed yesterday that Dragon Age: Inquisition has a multiplayer mode that delivers an online cooperative experience for up to four players.

Immediately plenty of questions appeared and the studio tried its best to answer as many of them as possible.

Now, a new report has surfaced via Reddit, claiming that the multiplayer experience in Inquisition will not feature cross-platform play, meaning gamers can't play with each other across different devices (PC, PS4, Xbox One, or other consoles).

What's more, on the actual consoles, splitscreen gaming isn't supported, meaning you can't have a friend play alongside you locally in the online mode using a single copy of the game.

The report is part of a massive info collection about the cooperative mode in Inquisition but, unfortunately, a concrete source wasn't provided.

Even so, considering Mass Effect 3's co-op mode also lacked a splitscreen or cross-platform support, it's unlikely that things will change with Inquisition when it releases this November across PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
