IO Interactive teased us a couple of days ago that they were going to make a Hitman-related announcement before the end of the month, and they have not disappointed.

Developer IOI has been hard at work on the next iteration of the Hitman series, but they won't be showing anything during this year's edition of E3.

"We're focusing all of our time and efforts into creating the best possible Hitman game. That's our number one priority and we don't want to divert valuable resources to show something before it's ready," the official announcement on the official Hitman website tells.

"The good news is we're making great progress with building exotic and expansive locations for the new game. To give you an idea of what we're aiming for, here's the first piece of concept art from the game," the announcement continues.

The action takes place in Central Europe, and players will be able to explore the entire building depicted in the image, both inside and out. The developers inform that the building on its own is bigger than any other location featured in Hitman Absolution, to provide a sense of scale.

As the old saying goes, "good things come to those who wait and follow Twitter," so here it is, the first concept art piece from the next Hitman game.

Also, if you like Hitman and haven't read the open letter to all Hitman fans, then by all means go read IO Interactive's open letter to all Hitman fans.
