The studio behind great franchises like Quake, Doom, or Wolfenstein – id Software – is currently hiring for an “unannounced game for future-generation consoles,” which might be part of one of the aforementioned franchises.

Even if it hasn’t been releasing games like in the good old times, id Software is still a force to be reckoned with.

After releasing Rage last year into moderate success, the studio is now working hard on a game designed for next-generation consoles, at least according to a fresh job listing, via Kotaku.

The ideal candidate needs to have a familiarity with franchises from id, which hints that the next-gen project could be set in series like Wolfenstein, Quake, or Doom.

The studio admitted that it was working on Doom 4 some time ago, but it’s unclear just when it’s going to officially reveal the shooter to the world and for what platforms, besides the PC.
