A new version of the Xbox One controller has just been leaked by Microsoft itself, as its Support page now lists a fresh feature for the gamepad, in the form of a 3.5mm headphone jack that's going to be available in models that go on sale after June 2015.

The Xbox One launched back in November of 2013, and alongside it Microsoft brought forth a new type of controller that featured lots of enhanced elements on top of the solid base provided by the very popular Xbox 360 gamepad.

However, it seems that at next month's E3 2015 event, Microsoft will unveil a fresh version of the Xbox One controller that features a 3.5mm headphone jack, probably to make it much easier for owners of the gamepad to use regular headsets, not just those made specifically for the Xbox One.

Currently, the console's controller features a proprietary connector and a special adapter made by Microsoft is needed to ensure that a headphone works with it.

The PS4's DualShock 4 controller already has a 3.5mm jack and is quite a hit with users, so it stands to reason that Microsoft is making this small tweak to its product. As of right now, it's unclear if other changes are coming for the Xbox One controller next month.
