14 DAY TRIAL // The development team working on Super Smash Bros. at Nintendo announces that one of the new items that gamers will be able to use in the game on both the 3DS and the Wii U is the beetle that fans of The Legend of Zelda will remember from Skyward Sword.
The news comes from a Miiverse message from Game Director Masashiro Sakurai, who states, “Pic of the day. The Beetle item from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is a comical item that grabs characters and carries them into the air.”
The beetle will be used to drop them outside the battle area or in locations where they can be easily defeated.
Super Smash Bros. is set to be launched in 2014 on the Wii U home console and the 3DS handheld.
The two versions of the game will not feature cross-platform play, but the team at Nintendo promises that each will have unique and engaging mechanics.
