Sony has confirmed during its Tokyo Games Show 2013 press conference that a new PlayStation Vita model is going to appear this fall, with better battery life, 1GB of built-in memory, and lots of different colors.

The PlayStation Vita made its debut more than a year ago, and Sony has since operated price cuts in order to make the portable console more attractive.

Now, during its TGS 2013 press conference live stream, Sony has revealed that a new PlayStation Vita model is going to be released on October 10 in Japan.

The new version is smaller and sleeker, with Sony confirming that it's 20% thinner and 15% lighter.

It has a better battery life, with more than 1 hour being added to the lifecycle. The new PS Vita also has 1GB of built-in memory for save game storage, and a micro USB charger/data port has been added.

The new version is going to be released in Japan on October 10. No word about its launch in North America or Europe.
