Pillars of Eternity, the new video game from the development team at Obsidian, is getting ready to launch for all its fans on March 26 and the studio is launching a new installment in its Road to Eternity documentary series.

The footage features various developers as they talk about the way Kickstarter managed to allow them to get enough money to make sure that their studio was secure in the long term.

But the fact that Pillars of Eternity depended on the many gamers who put up their money via crowdfunding also created pressure for Obsidian, as it had to work hard to make sure that the expectations of the fans were met when the title was finally launched.

The new title is designed to deliver an experience which is inspired by the classic Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment, but with an entirely new world, which is created from scratch and features some unique fantasy elements.

Fans will be able to create a party and recruit other adventurers as they battle enemies using a turn-based system with a variety of skills, powers and tactics.

The game has been created using 4.5 million dollars (4.2 million Euro) and Obsidian says that it is trying to offer the best experience possible for its fans.
