Codemasters is going to revive its Overlord series soon, as the studio has just posted a teaser trailer confirming that a four-player dungeon crawler is going to act as the next stage in the franchise's development.

The Overlord series brought forth some pretty interesting action adventure experiences over the years, putting players in the shoes of an evil Overlord with an army of minions at his disposal. The titles dealt with various fantasy RPG tropes by reversing the roles of good and evil and won over many fans.

Unfortunately, in recent years, the series was dormant, as owner Codemasters was unable to allocate resources to it.

However, it seems that things might soon change, as a special teaser trailer is now available, recapping the events of the Overlord series in broad strokes, while teasing that the next game is going into a new direction thanks to this new four-player cooperative adventure mechanic.

Four new Overlords are depicted briefly at the end of the trailer, including a female one, and short gameplay sequences show a top-down hack and slash experience with native support for four players.

The full reveal of the new Overlord game is going to take place tomorrow, April 23, at 6am PST, 9am EST, 2pm BST, or 3pm CET, depending on your location.
