Mac Walters, one of the leading writers at BioWare, says that he is currently working on the next video game in the Mass Effect series, although he is not ready to use the 4 label for it.

The developer told o.canada after the Canadian Video Game Awards that, “Right now I’m actually just working on Mass Effect 4 (I wouldn’t call it 4, I’d just call it the next Mass Effect). It’s coming out of Montreal.”

Walters is best known for creating the ending for Mass Effect 3, which ended Commander Shepard’s saga and was highly divisive for the fan community.

The writer also believes that most players are ok with the way he closed down the previous game in the series, with just a vocal minority asking BioWare to change it via downloadable content.

Walters is also apparently working on another project that he cannot talk about.
