Video game publisher Electronic Arts announces that it is opening a new location for its DICE studio in Los Angeles, which will be tasked with working on new video games associated with the Star Wars franchise.

By the end of 2013, the new location will have around 60 employees, according to information from Gamasutra.

It seems that the basic infrastructure of the new studio will be linked to the EALA and Danger Close.

Karl-Magnus Troedsson, the general manager of DICE, says that his company aims to compete for local development talent with Infinity Wars and Treyarch, who are associated with the rival Call of Duty series.

Electronic Arts has entered into an official exclusive agreement with Disney, which will see it create Star Wars-themed video games in the coming year.

All of them will be powered by Frostbite 3, and BioWare, DICE and Visceral have been confirmed as developers so far.
